Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch
The other of the two largest theatre complexes, on the University of Cape Town campus, with multiple venues including a world-class theatre and 640 seater concert hall.
This vibrant, multicultural entertainment hub built in 1976, was a pillar of hope during the apartheid era. By leveraging its relationship with UCT, it was able to present multiracial, progressive work at a time when all other non-racial interactivity was banned or censored.

The Alma Cafe in Rosebank
Cosy local neighbourhood venue which doubles up as a day time coffee shop and weekend live music venue.
Owned by Jono Tait, talented singer songwriter & frontman for local folk rock band, Hatchetman, the line-up features top local accoustic folk, jazz, blues, rock, etc.
The very reasonable fee includes a meal before the show starts.

The Blue Room
This live music & cocktail lounge in the heart of lively Bree Street, pays homage to the soulful sounds of jazz & blues. It’s a joint venture between owner / chef Matt Manning of leading restaurant Grub & Vine (upstairs) and well-known jazz artist Buddy Wells.
Open from Tuesday to Saturday for pre show dinner & cocktails from 6 to 8 pm, with live performances from some of the country’s top jazz, soul & blues artists from 7 to 10 pm.
Bar menu (with excellent meals & tapas) & drinks available during the show. Arrive early to place your orders at the bar and settle in for the show. Limited table service during the show.
